• Mmmmmm, new True Blood trailer. :D (Though if the rumours about them killing off Eric are true, I really will straight-up stop watching, and I’m not someone who really threatens that, but seriously he’s at least 85% of why I keep watching at all).
• Aaaaaand Newsroom trailer! This show has a lot of flaws, but I am looking forward to watching them cover the election in retrospect.
• Ugggggggh, really, we had to have Arya see Robbwind? Really? That was necessary? And Sandor while you’re in the middle of rescuing her you couldn’t have TURNED HER AROUND OR SOMETHING?
• Nice cut, though. Dark blood and misery and terror straight into a flowering garden. (Lot of flowers for autumn).
• Awww, Tyrion, you made Sansa laugh. Sort of.
• Well, they were edging towards some facsimile happiness for about .3 seconds.
• Yeah, nothing that makes Joffrey smile like that can be good.

• See, as much as I fucking hate what happens to Theon, and as much as I sometimes am not a fan of GRRM’s writing style, he actually did the whole Reek thing completely right. By hinting at it but never showing us directly until DwD, and even then we still see more of the damage than we do the damaging. It’s disturbing and psychological. It made me pity Theon, which I didn’t before, and it’s definitely the best writing in DwD. This is just gore. It’s nothing but shock value. It’s the low road to the goal.
• Sam, when the fuck had you heard about Hodor? I somehow do not believe at all that Jon ever had cause to talk about him.

• Awwwwww, man, I was really hoping we were going to end with Stoneheart. That scene is a way less effective season closer than we had for 1 and 2. We didn’t spend enough time with Dany in the last few episodes for it to be effective to end with her. Poor choice.

• I want to know who carved all of those little pieces in the right shapes for Robb’s map.
• Ohh, Robb, are you about to admit that you’ve been dumb to ignore your mother all this time? Too little too late, bro. (It’s okay, bebe, we don’t blame you, we know the showrunners fucked you up).
• BTW, where the fuck has Grey Wind been all season? Going to be weird to bring him back just for this.

• Seriously, though, they’ve figured out the dragons pretty well but don’t seem to be doing jack shit with the wolves.

• I just want to say: I said when they announced the series however many years ago that they needed to fucking do the music for this moment right. I am thus far not disappointed.

• This is so far not as bad as I was expecting. The colour scheme is failing to do it justice. All the muted browns and bad lighting. And it’s not like HBO can’t get away with the gore, I watch True Blood.

Catching up on Game of Thrones. My thoughts from episodes 5 and 6 are as follows:

• That oral sex sounded better in the book than it looked on screen. Because heavens forbid we give more than two point five seconds to glorifying female pleasure.
• Jaime and Brienne (whom I don’t even like in the books) are the best things happening this season.
• WTF Gendry??
• No one likes you, Talisa, go away.
• I continue to be irritated by the lack of lupine presence.
• From what I’d heard about Ros, I actually expected way, way worse. I expected we’d actually be watching something horrifically graphic happen to her (and what does that say about this show, that that was my assumption?)
• Why is Ramsay Snow a thing that exists?
