taeko-yasuhiros asked: Gosh, I'm so over Doctor Who lately. Which is so weird because I legit loved Eleven's first season. I think it was one of my favorites I've seen so far. (And I'm not particularly nostalgic for RTD-era because I'm still angry at how he wrote Martha's intro to the series. Having Ten constantly compare her unfavorably to Rose? R E A L L Y?) but as of season six and apparently season seven Moffat's undone everything I loved about season five. And it's really disappointing
And don’t get me wrong, the RTD era definitely has its problems and he was not without his own issues as a showrunner, but on the whole — during RTD’s run, there are generally only a couple of episodes in a series that I don’t really care for, can skip on Netflix watch-throughs, sort of forget exist, etc. With Moffat running things, it’s harder for me to think of episodes that I do care about. (And they mostly involve River. Or Neil Gaiman). That’s less true of 5 — there are a few things I really adore in 5 — but 6 and 7 so far? I have so many “meh” feelings. Or just flat-out forget what happened. It’s much harder for me to think of episodes I really do enjoy than ones I didn’t.
